Exhibition of 21 artists from the Illawarra
Bowral Art Gallery, 1 Short Street Bowral
Thurs 27 Aug – Tues 8 Sept, open every day 10 till 4.
The phrase a view from the coast is reminiscent of a postcard sent from a far-away place. Artists from IAVA (Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts Inc.) mostly live on or near the coast and come to the Highlands as visitors with the salt air in their nostrils.
A view implies a viewer. Art is always the artist’s interpretation of their world, be it observed, imagined or remembered. This exhibition includes paintings, drawings and sculptures that are beautiful, magical and odd. All welcome. No opening event due to COVID: coffee and treats served every day.
