Artists SABINA HR CHOI and LYNNE JOHNS will discuss their differing art practices.

Sabina HR Choi is a self taught artist with background of history, art history and museum studies. Ever since she started attending a local life drawing class in Melbourne 2001, her passion for art continued whilst living in Wollongong, Singapore and UAE. With great interests in human emotions and narrative, her work developed a more personal meaning and became more abstract during the lockdown period. Since returning to Wollongong 2017, she has exhibited many places in the Illawarra area and Sydney.
Lynne Johns, is a Wollongong based Artist. Her practice includes painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, alternate photography and weaving. She holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Distinction) and Dip Ed gained at the University of Wollongong. Lynne is represented in the University of Wollongong Art Collection and in private collections in The UK and United States. Lynne is also a registered Marriage & Funeral Celebrant and has been an Educator prior to retiring in 2018. Lynne has been a finalist in the Meroogal Women’s Art Prize; finalist in the Jervis Bay Sea-change Prize; 3 times finalist in the 9x5 Waverley Landscape prize where she was placed second in 2022; finalist in the Bryan & Robyn Carr Arts Prize; Awarded 2nd place in the Thirroul Seaside and Arts Festival 2022: Lynne’s work is Expressionistic leaning toward Abstraction. The Environment features predominantly in her work. Lynne has exhibited in the Illawarra, South Coast and Sydney since 1984.
