Libby studied fashion at TAFE, graduating and winning the director’s Award in 1996. Then completed a degree in Visual Arts at Wollongong University, graduating in 2000, winning Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi with her graduating work in that same year. She has gone on to win many awards for her sculpture and assemblage work since then. Working with recycled and collected materials, she has exhibited widely and her work is held is many private collections.
Libby is a member of several art Associations, including the Sydney Sculpture Society, Red Point Artists Association and a founding member of Iava, the Illawarra Association of Contemporary Visual Arts. She has given a lot of time to community arts events as community is very important to her. These include ‘on the shore’ , an outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in the Illawarra, which she ran for ten years, the Red Point Wearable Art Showcase , an event which combines her passion for art, fashion, performance and community. Libby is also the creator of the Bubbles Ball, a breast cancer fundraiser celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary in 2015, having raised over $70,000 through the years. Libby is also a committee member and performance coordinator of Circus Wow. Apart from enjoying the challenge of the physical skills of stilt walking, tightwire, hooping, object manipulation and acrobatics, her interest in the women’s circus lies in the areas of costuming and creative performance. Libby was the assistant director of Circus Wow’s 10 year anniversary show in 2011.
