Moira is a Wollongong-based painter and poet who creates bold, colourful abstract pieces that often have a sense of whimsy.
“There are plenty of times when a work just resists resolution. Other times, you finish a work and it’s ok but not exciting. Occasionally though something’s worked really well and I’ve been confounded as to how it arrived. I have no sense of it being created by me. That’s because in a weird but certain way, it WASN’T me. I was, as Mondrian said, only the channel. I felt the angels brush past me in a dazzling crowd, and magically, there it was.”
