I am a radical lesbian feminist maker and painter of beautiful things, activist and artist, born in Coledale NSW, living in Sydney and Canberra before returning to Coalcliff in 1997 and Bellambi in 1999.

My work is strongly influenced by my love of local nature and the surrounding bushlands, wetlands and seascapes and my personal politics. I have worked in emergency services for women since 1978 and take seriously the situation of women living in a patriarchy.

I love placing female forms into landscape paintings. I usually paint with transparent watercolour on thick arches paper. I like to use resist, scratching and sanding and strong colours.

I have painted murals in Canberra and Wollongong including a 25 square metre rose in Civic Square, bus stop shelters, and panels on the side of the Wollongong Art Gallery.

My fabric banners have been used by a diverse range of women’s non-government organizations to promote a feminist agenda. They have been used in Beijing for the 4th UN World Conference on Women 1995, during the Sydney Lesbian and Gay Mardi Gras Parades, at New York United Nations CEDAW meetings, anti arms trade demonstrations, the bridge Sorry walks, Reclaim the Night marches and to celebrate International Women’s Day and International Lesbian Day.

I have studied painting, drawing and printmaking.
